Priyanka ate the film- Netizens put PeeCee's Kashibai above Kajol, Kriti Sanon, Rashmika Mandanna

Chhaava with Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna in the lead is doing good business. For the first time, Rashmika has portrayed the character of a Maharashtrian queen Yesubai. She has received mixed reactions for both her looks and performance. Many believed that Mrunal Thakur being a Maharashtrian could have nailed the role while there have been many web users who feel that Rashmika Mandanna has the same dead expressions all through the movie.

Since this is not the first time that a non-Maharashtrian has played a Maharashtrian queen or royal lady comparisons are bound to happen.

Kajol, Kriti, and Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra had a comparatively smaller role as Kashibai in Bajirao Mastani. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were the lead actors. But the way PeeCee portrayed Kashibai she stole most of the limelight from Deeps and Ranveer. While many web users believe that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a hard taskmaster and has the knack of getting out the best from his actors, it is a fact that Priyanka Chopra Jonas outshined the other two in Bajirao Mastani.

Be it her Maharashtrian look, the accent and tone, she looked as convincing as the wife of a Maratha leader. Nonetheless, both Kajol and Kriti Sanon also played Maharashtrian royalties in Tanhaji and Panipat. Kajol is half Maharashtrian from her mother’s side since Tanuja is Marathi by birth born to Shobhana Samarth- a Marathi actress.

She looked wonderful as wife of the Maratha leader Tanhaji but when compared to Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Kajol‘s performance seemed less convincing. Ditto with Kriti Sanon who portrayed the character of Parvati Bai in Panipat. Most of the netizens are convinced that although these actresses did well they could not be as convincing as Priyanka Chopra who looked both emotional and strong at the same time.

She overshadowed Deepika and Ranveer even though the two had bigger roles. The same can’t be said of Kriti Sanon, Kajol and Rashmika Mandanna. Chhaava is more a movie of Vicky Kaushal and Akshaye Khanna but Bajirao Mastani is also about Kashibai because it was Priyanka Chopra Jonas who played that character.
