The stunning Rashmika Mandanna has established herself as a commercial heroine in a very short span of time. With three blockbusters Animal, Pushpa 2 and Chhava in a row, Rashmika is currently ruling box office and is everyone director and producer’s favourite.

The actress, who started her career through Kannada film, has now established herself in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi film industries. Despite beginning her career in Kannada, Rashmika is believed to be receiving a lot of hate from Karnataka.

Do you know the reason? Well, the controversy surrounding Rashmika Mandanna's relationship with the Kannada film industry stems from multiple incidents. It began when she called off her engagement with Rakshit Shetty in 2018, a beloved figure in Kannada cinema. Rakshit is one of the most loved actors in Kannada film industry and was the first star to work with Rashmika Mandanna.

Love blossomed between Rakshit and Rashmika during the making of ‘Kirrik Party’. The two were even engaged. However, the engagement was later called off, reportedly by Rashmika as she wanted to focus on her career.

The animosity grew further after she allegedly failed to acknowledge the production house that launched her career during a promotional interview for her Hindi debut 'Goodbye' in 2022. This perceived lack of gratitude towards Paramvah Studios, co-founded by her former fiancé Rakshit Shetty, sparked initial outrage among Kannada film fans.

The situation was exacerbated when Rashmika mentioned not having watched Rishab Shetty's blockbuster 'Kantara', despite him being the director of her first break 'Kirrik Party'. These incidents led to accusations of ingratitude and distancing herself from her roots, fueling speculations of a potential ban from the Kannada film industry.

Recently, Rashmika sparked outrage by referring to Hyderabad as her hometown, even as she is born in Karnataka, which many fans saw as a rejection of her roots. Social media platforms have been rife with trolling and negative comments directed at the actress.

Rashmika herself addressed the negativity in a November 2022 Instagram post, expressing her frustration with being a 'punching bag for trolls' and asserting her right to make career choices without facing unwarranted hate.

On the work front, Rashmika is getting rave reviews for her performance in Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhava’. She also has superstar Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ that will release on Eid 2025.
