Meanwhile, the audience is quite excited to the entire cast of Mirzapur on big screens. Following the announcement of Mirzapur: The Film, fans are thrilled to witness the power struggles, crime, and revenge in the fictional town. A couple of days back Ali Fazal and Shweta Tripathi shared some interesting updates. Now, Golu (Shweta) shared a BIG update on the storyline of the much-awaited crime thriller saga Mirzapur: The Film.

During a recent interview, Shweta shared a major update and said, 'It's going to be more of a testosterone-heavy film.'

During the interview with Midday, the Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein actress confirmed that Mirzapur: The Film based on the series is set to begin production soon. Talking about the plot, she explained that as Mirzapur is inherently a male-dominated world, with men holding power, the film will reflect the same.

She also shared that while the film will maintain the tone and essence of the series, she anticipates that it will be more testosterone-driven. Further, she confirmed that the movie will include the characters from the first season.

Furthermore, she expressed her joy for people recognizing her, particularly for her portrayal of Golu. She also expressed her happiness for the love fans have for the character. Especially, it is gratifying when young women, dressed in makeup and stockings, express their admiration for Golu, despite the character's stark contrast to their appearance, she added.

She also expressed her pride for Mirzapur being the first OTT series to be adapted into a movie. However, she stated about the responsibility that comes with it.

Well, fans just can't wait as the beloved crime drama is to make a bold lead from the small screen to the silver screen. The theatrical release of the movie is scheduled for 2026.
