Mamta Kulkarni 'didn't know anything about s*x'! Former actress opens up on her semi-nude photoshoot
Former actress Mamta Kulkarni, who was quite popular in the 90s, shocked many as she renounced worldly life and took Sanyas at the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. She joined the Kinnar Akhada performing all the rituals and was assumed the title of 'Mahamandleshwar'. She was also given a new name, Shri Yamai Mamta Nandgiri. However, Mamta's appointment faced a backlash for her film career and criminal history. The Kinnar Akhada removed the former actress from their position. Amid this, Mamta opened up about her controversial semi-nude photoshoot and said that she was just a kid at the time and didn't know anything about s*x.
Notably, during the earlier days of her career, Mamta Kulkarni made it to the headlines for her controversial semi-nude photoshoot for Stardust Magazine. During a recent conversation with Rajat Sharma on Aap Ki Adalat, broke her silence on the controversy and defended herself.
Mamta said, “I was then studying in the ninth standard."
Further, she said that people from Stardust Magazine showed him a picture of Demi Moore, which she didn't find obscene. She also recalled that at the time she asserted that she was still a 'virgin'. However, people couldn't digest her statement.
Furthermore, Mamta said that people believed aspiring actors could do anything to enter Bollywood. She also acknowledged that some might take that path for money, but that was not the case for her. She never had to resort to such means as she came from a well-off family.
Mamta said, "Since I didn't know anything about s*x, I didn't understand what nudity was about. If you are not s*xually conscious, you won't relate nudity to obscenity."
