Ending all speculations, Aamir Khan confirmed that Sunny Deol's son Karan Deol will star in Lahore 1947. Further, Aamir heaped praises on Karan and is highly hopeful of his contribution in the movie.
A few days earlier, it was revealed that Karan auditioned for a crucial character in Lahore 1947, also starring Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Abhimanyu Singh and Ali Fazal.
Now confirming his selection, Aamir heaped praises on Karan and said, "I am so happy that Karan Deol has tested so well for the extremely critical role of Javed. His natural innocence, his sincerity and honesty bring a lot to the table. Karan has really applied himself, worked hard, done workshops with ADISHAKTI, rehearsals with Raj, and is giving it his all."
Further, he added, "Javed is a great part, a very challenging part, and I am sure that with Raj Santoshi to direct him, Karan will nail it."
Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Lahore 1947 will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The excitement elevated soon after the announcement of Preity Zinta coming on board. While Preity and Sunny will be seen in lead roles, Abhimanyu will play the antagonist. While the Rajkumar, Aamir and Sunny are coming together for the first time, the helmer is also collaborating with AR Rahman and Javed Akhtar on the film.
Earlier, talking about his team, Rajkumar said, "For a film of this magnitude, I can't think of anyone else than A R Rahman as a music composer, he is one of the top composers in the world right now. Javed Akhtar and I share a very good bond with each other for many years, having him for this project as a lyricist is a delight. This is truly the best dream team and rare to come together."

Further, the director also said that the shooting for the film will commence soon with all the positivity and full of energy.
