The recent reports of Sajid Nadiadwala pulling off a mega coup by bringing Salman Khan and AR Murugadoss together filled excitement among all. Since the reports stormed the social media, the news and discussions around the project refuse to die down. Excited fans have come up with different theories. The latest buzz in the industry is that the duo teamed up for Kick 2. However, the production banner has cleared the air and busted the rumours.

Earlier today, a report in Bollywood Hungama claimed, Salman and Murugadoss reunited for Kick 2. The report quoted a close source to the development as saying, “While Kick was directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, the sequel will be helmed by AR Murugadoss. Sajid Nadiadwala will be overseeing the entire project as he feels this one has the potential to be the biggest grosser of his production house.”

Further, the source revealed that Murugadoss and his team developed the script for Kick 2. The source added, "When Sajid heard the script, the first name that came to his mind was Salman Khan. When the producer took the film to Salman, he loved it and instantly agreed to come on board. The script beautifully leads itself to the world of Kick and will mark the return of Salman Khan as Devi Lal Singh aka Devil."

Later in the evening, production banner 'Nadiadwala Grandson' cleared the air over the speculations regarding Kick 2. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the production banner wrote on its official handle, "We would like to officially announce that all speculations and rumours with regard to #Kick2 are untrue." (sic)

Further, the post read, "A special project with #ARMurugadoss is underway. Would kindly request all media houses to wait for the official announcement soon. Thank you!" (sic)

Notably, 2014’s flick Kick grossed over Rs 402 crore worldwide and over Rs 232 crore net domestically. Though it was a remake of Ravi Tejja’s Telugu flick, Salman’s movie emerged as one of the year's biggest blockbusters. The movie also starred Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Mithun Chakraborty in pivotal roles.
