Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer 'Pushpa' and Yash starrer 'KGF Chapter 2' are among the most anticipated movies of the year. While there are no official updates regarding the release of the movies, fans of the Stylish Star and Rocking Star are on banter on social media to keep trending the movies of their favourite movie stars. Even, a recent report announced that KGF Chapter 2 lost to Pushpa in the race of the most anticipated movies of the year grabbing the second spot. However, craze for both the movies is soaring high.

But, here we are not highlighting the faceoff between Pushpa and KGF 2. Even it is not about the lead actors of the said movies. It is about the 'Cold War' between Rocking Star Yash and National Crush Rashmika Mandanna.  This story revives an incident that took place a few years back when neither Yash nor Rashmika were that famous as they are today.

Everything started from Rashmika's statement during an interview in 2017.

During the interview, Rashmika was asked to name one Sandalwood actor who is 'Mr Showoff' according to her. Though the Geetha Govindam actress at first tried to avoid the question, later she named Rocking Star Yash as Mr Showoff of the Kannada Film Industry.

Rashmika was asked, "Who, according to you, is the Mr Showoff in Kannada film industry?." To this question the actress replied, "Yash."

However, such a statement didn't go down well with fans of the Rocking Star. The news was all over on social media and fans of Yash vented out their anger on social media. Yash being counted among the leading actors of Sandalwood had a huge fan base. Fans of the KGF actor brutally trolled the National Crush for calling their favourite actor Mr Showoff.

After facing the wrath of Yash's fans, Rashmika posted an apology note on her Facebook handle. The actress in her long note clarified that it was a fun interview and didn't intend to hurt anyone's sentiment.

Her post read: "I have no disrespect towards Yash Sir or anyone. In fact, on many occasions, I have expressed my admiration towards Yash Sir, his talent and how he has inspired everyone, including myself. The media has sadly ignored that I mentioned Santhu Straight Forward as the movie that I enjoyed most at that time. When you edit and take just two lines from the most non serious part of the show and give it spin... the context is lost. That is really sad. It wasn't a statement I made but it was a game of rapid-fire and never in my dreams I had any idea that this would be taken so seriously ignoring my admiration and all the positive statements I had made about him. I am sorry if I have hurt any of your feelings. I did not intend to. My upbringing will never let me do that. I request everyone to have a look on my other interviews and fb lives where I have appreciated Yash Sir's work and when asked I have also expressed my desire to work with him."

The interview was aired on Star Suvarna during the release of Kirik Party.

Later, Yash broke his silence over the controversial comment and penned down his reaction on Facebook for his followers.

"I am just an actor who is looking forward to give you entertainment and gain respect and love from you people. I have made it a habit to ignore some stuff that do not pertain to me or that deem unnecessary to me."

Further the post read: "My fans love me and I cannot restrain myself from responding to their grief at their time of distress. I can never ever repay back the love my fans have given me and just for that sake, I will forever be indebted to you people."

"I do not know Rashmika Mandanna personally. We have neither met not spoken to each other. But that does not mean she cannot have an opinion about me. It is her opinion about me and I am requesting you all not to downgrade her opinion. Respect it, as I do" he added.

Requesting his fans to end the controversy and discussion on the matter, Yash asked all to respect everyone's opinion as each individual have their own perspectives. Further, he stated that nobody's opinion can change him or his character. There is nothing to rant about this matter so I request you all to drop this once and for all," he added.

However, things seem to be quite normal between the both now. And it was a sheer moment of pride for Yash fans when the KGF actor attended the promotional event of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Dear Comrade.

Both Yash and Rashmika are currently gearing up for their upcoming movies- KGF Chapter 2 and Pushpa while fans are waiting eagerly for the release of both the movies.
