Yes, it’s not us or any other media reports that claim such a thing! KJo himself confessed that he wanted to ‘destroy’ Anushka’s career.

During an interview with Rajeev Masand and Anupama Chopra in 2016, KJo in a jest had made the confession.

“I totally wanted to murder completely Anushka Sharma’s career. Because, when Aditya Chopra showed me her image, I was like no no, mad or what? You are signing her! You are crazy and there is no need to sign this Anushka Sharma,” said Johar.

He went on to add, “There was another lead actress at that time, who I wanted Adi to sign. And, I was totally behind the scenes sabotaging her completely. And the movie I was also reluctantly watching it, at that time Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. But, when I saw Band Baaja Baaraat, I called her. And I felt like I owed her an apology and a compliment. Apology because I felt so embarrassed that I would have actually ruined the graph of an exceptional talent.”

Recently, actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas made startling revelations that she was cornered in the industry and people didn’t cast her in movies for which she decided to leave Bollywood.

Following the revelations, actress Kangana Ranaut, known for mocking different filmmakers, claimed that it was Karan Johar who banned her (Priyanka) and chased her out of the film industry.
