From controversial feud to hosting together: This Karan Johar-Kartik Aayran journey shows how success makes a difference

Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan lit up the awards function of IIFA 2025, hosting it in Jaipur recently. Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and many other big names from Bollywood were in attendance. Interestingly, despite Karan Johar being the insider and one of the topmost directors and producers in Bollywood, Kartik Aaryan left no moment to roast him in front of the audience and he also seemed comfortable sharing the IIFA 2025 stage with Koki.

But things were quite different a few years ago when Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions was at the top, serving as the launch pad for star kids, and had roped in Kartik Aaryan for a movie with Janhvi Kapoor.

Kartik Aaryan-Karan Johar controversial feud

Kartik had become the new heartthrob after the success of a few back to back decent hits and hence Karan Johar had roped him for Dostana 2 with Janvhi Kapoor. Rumours were adrift that Koki and Janhvi had a fling and also went on a holiday. Things did not work out well between the two actors and what’s more Koki’s equation with Karan Johar also hit the rough patch.

While Kartik Aaryan did not talk much about their feud Karan Johar had vowed not to work with the actor again stating reasons like unprofessional behaviour and creative differences. The Kal Ho Naa Ho producer had put an elaborate post related to the same on his social media wall.

Kartik Aaryan on his part refused to say anything on this matter and only said that he would like his work to speak.

Both Kartik and Karan have patched up, now working together

The good news is that both of them have patched up and now Kartik is working on Karan Johar-produced movie Main Teri Tu Mera Tu Meri Main Tera. During his recent interviews, Karan Johar said, “There is nothing, it’s all in the past. Looking forward to a great Dostana ahead.”

While neither of the two is saying much, one thing is obvious Kartik Aaryan is currently a hot property in Bollywood. On the other hand, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions desperately needs a big hit. Financially it is in big trouble which is why Karan was forced to sell its 50% stake to Adar Poonawalla.

Since Kartik Aaryan has shown that he can bring the audience to the theaters with BB3 and Karan Johar and the team is in desperate need of a hit, he has forgotten all about the past and joined hands with the handsome actor. After all, nothing works like success in Bollywood.
