Nag Ashwin, Sandeep Reddy Vanga
Nag Ashwin-directed Kalki 2898 AD continues its riot run at the box office despite the release of two big movies- Kamal Haasan’s Hindustani 2 and Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira. Even the release of Kill introducing young actor Lakshya and famous dancer Raghav Juyal as antagonist failed to disrupt the run of this mega blockbuster.
Naturally, Nag Ashwin today is a hot property. While lead actor Prabhas is busy vacationing abroad the director and the producer Ashwini Dutt have been giving back-to-back interviews explaining the commercials, strategies, technicalities, and concepts that went into the making of Kalki 2898 AD. With the sequel still in the pipeline fans are eager to know many details on how the storyline will move forward.
Similar to Nag Ashwin, SS Rajamouli, Prashanth Neel, and Sandeep Reddy Vanga has delivered big pan India blockbusters like Baahubali, RRR, KGF 2, Salaar, Kabir Singh, and Animal respectively. While RRR and Baahubali had action related to the storyline all the other movies mostly depicted violence and bloodshed with Vanga going a step forward with Animal showing utmost cruelty and next-level violence.
Today Nag Ashwin took a dig at these directors especially Vanga with his IG post that says, “This milestone, this number is massive for a young team like ours …but the fact that we achieved it without blood, gore, obscenity, provocative or exploitative content means so much.. a big thank you to the audience and the actors who stood behind us.”
Many users have called out Nag Ashwin for this post with a social media user saying, “If that is the case then, you used religion which is a far bigger and better bait for the audience. Remove the 5-10 mins of Mahabharata scenes and its direct references, especially that particular reveal at the very end, and we will be left with 160 minutes of disappointment that just floats due to the presented world-building.” A few users advised Nag Ashwin, “He needs to calm down now, and enjoy your success without dragging others down.”
