Nitesh Kumar Sahoo

Bollywood hunk and poster boy John Abraham has lately reserved a prominent space in the B Town with his spectacular onscreen performance. Starring in several blockbuster movies, the actor established himself as a commercially successful actor. Moreover, his chiselled body is jaw-dropping for all.

Though John lately established himself as a lead actor, he has showcased different characters and earned the appreciation of movie lovers. Be it as the lead or the antagonist or in a comic role, John has distinguished himself as a versatile actor.

However, his latest remarks on foraying into OTT space has left twitterati in splits.

As per media reports, John reacted on foraying into OTT and said, "I am a big-screen hero and that is where I want to be seen. I would not like to be available for Rs 299 or Rs 499 on OTT."

Further, the reports quoted John as saying, "I would find it offensive if someone shut off my film midway on a tablet because they needed to rush to the washroom."

Well, such remarks didn't go down well with many. His remarks drew sharp criticism from the social media users.

While one user said, " Is bhaisaab ki ek bhi movie Maine theatre me puri nai dekhi sivay Shootout at Lokhanwala (Kyuki usme Manoj Bajpayee sir the)", another said, " Iski ek bhi movie maine nhi dekhi big screen pe 🤡 .... Bas Pathan dekhne Jaungi Wo bhi Sabko Pata Hai Kiske Liye 👀 "

Another user said, "I don't even prefer to watch his movies telecast on TV screen for free... Forget about big screen."
"

"Lo bhai ab banda washroom bhi na jaye inka movie chal raha ho to," said another.

The list of comments lashing out at John was quite long.

"OTT is actually meant for actors, who nails d roles given to them so fantastically tht we start believing they r actually those characters only..John bhaiya, aapke chehre par se mushkil se koi makkhhi hatati, OTT pe aana hai toh acting kaha se karoge..?" another user said.

Well, it is not just the actor's remark drew criticism, many others took a stand for the actor.

One supporter said, "That reveals your taste.. Ever heard of Madras Cafe , No Smoking , Batla House ,  Water , Dhoom , Aashayein , Rocky Handsome, Parmanu , etc?? Google and youtube will help you

"Fact that you only know him because of Houseful 2 and not because of Madras Cafe, Batla House, Rocky Handsome,Romeo Akbar Walter, Parmanu, etc. tells more about your taste in movies," said another.

Well, OTT is the new medium of entertainment and staying away from the online streaming platforms may not help the producers as well as the actors to reach a wide set of audience. It can be said, OTT is considered as the future of entertainment as digitalisation is growing at a high pace.

The model-turned-actor made his Bollywood debut with Jism in 2003 and won Best Male Debut and Star Debut of the Year awards at the Bollywood Movie Awards and IIFA Awards respectively. The same year he also came up with Saaya and Paap.

Some of the remarkable films of the actor include Jism, Dhoom, Garam Masala, Dostana, Race 2, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, Satyameva Jayate, Batla House, Madras Cafe, No Smoking, Force, Desi Boyz, Shootout at Wadala, Race 2, Welcome Back, New York, etc. to name a few.
