Jawan review: Atlee has delivered a blockbuster, SRK launches another Tsunami with Nayanthara

Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is out and the initial response confirms that Atlee has delivered a blockbuster that is sure to shake all the earlier records of all the superstars including Shah Rukh Khan. Now, the only movie that can stop Jawan from being the biggest blockbuster of all time is SRK’s Pathaan. Fans are overjoyed and ecstatic and celebrating September 7 as SRK Day.

The story

Shah Rukh Khan has a double role in the movie and hence as expected it gives him a large canvas to portray not only his acting skills but also his inherent swag that is such a hot favourite with his fans. He plays around 7 looks in Jawan and has been quite convincing in most of them.

The action-packed drama has Nayanthara playing a police officer and also SRK’s love interest. Shah Rukh Khan is a soldier who later on turns vigilante and with the help of six women from his gang hijacks a metro train in Mumbai.

While SRK has the lead role, Vijay Sethupathi has equal footage in the movie and a chance to display all his histrionics as one of the largest global arms dealers. Interestingly, the South Indian stalwart dons multiple avatars in the movie making his character unpredictable and hence interesting.

As the trailer indicated Jawan is a revenge actioner and everyone knows how dynamic and badass SRK gets in such roles. However, Nayanthara once again proves that she is a very strong actor and makes an impact as a police officer. From her romantic song with SRK to her actions, there are so many reasons to fall in love with Nayan in Jawan. To top it all, Atlee has given her a boss entry

In addition, Jawan has excelled where Prabhas’ Adipurush lacked and that is high-level actions with very strong VFX that do not leave much scope for detecting any execution-level flaws.

From Kashmir to Tamil Nadu-Jawan gets tremendous response

The movie has received a tremendous response to its first 6 am show with fans burning crackers and dancing to the songs in theaters. The frenzy for Jawan is beyond imagination despite the fact that it is mid-week and the weekend is yet to come. From a man dressing as Jawan to fans dancing to Zinda Banda, cheering loudly at every step, the happiness and excitement around this movie and Shah Rukh Khan is at its zenith.

Critics review

While the early review of leading trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh was that the movie looked like a blockbuster, after its release he has said that it is unbearable and brings back the memories of SRK’s flop films like Fan. He has called it an epic disappointment.

On the other hand, Sumit Kadel has called it a big blockbuster praising Atlee for his mass-appealing script.
