Interstellar, Dune: Part Two
In an exciting piece of news for cinema-goers amid the festive spirit of Holi, Warner Bros. India announced on Tuesday that Christopher Nolan’s space sci-fi epic, Interstellar will be re-released for a second time this year starting March 14. The movie had earlier re-released in Indian theatres in February and was met with unprecedented demand and popularity, which led to this decision.
Warner Bros., however, also announced that Denis Villeneuve’s hit Dune: Part Two will also be re-released along with Interstellar in select theatres and on IMAX. Notably, both these movies will stay in cinemas for seven days, making them a highly sought-after affair for movie enthusiasts, since the duo of these films were highly popular during their original release in India.
Following the release of this news on WB’s Instagram handles, moviegoers in Odisha also left no stone unturned to start booking tickets. Fan forums on social media sites like Reddit and X were full of queries with many wondering when major cinemas in the state would start allowing bookings.
According to the latest information available on booking websites at the time of filing of this report, only Rourkela had screening options open for both Interstellar and Dune: Part Two. Additionally, several of the tickets for March 14 had already begun selling out for select time slots.
Curiously, no cinema chains in Bhubaneswar or Cuttack have listed any of the two movies so far. It is to be noted, however, that during the February re-release of Interstellar, only Bhubaneswar had screened the Nolan film in the twin city. However, this time, cinema fans from both cities may be at the risk of missing out.
