Indian Idol 14 saw a few interesting changes this season. After a long time, Neha Kakkar was replaced with the current melody queen Shreya Ghoshal. Regular judge Anu Malik was replaced by veteran singer Kumar Sanu and for the first time after so many years, fans thought that the right people were chairing the reality show. Also, Hussain Kuwajerwala returned to hosting after a gap of long years replacing Aditya Narayan.
This year a good lot of young singers have been selected in the top 15. While eventually a few have been eliminated and more will face eviction as the show progresses week by week, a few have managed to win the hearts of the guest celebrities by rendering some mellifluous performances.

The hot favourite of Shreya Ghoshal, this young singer despite being blind has given such mesmerizing performances on the stage of Indian Idol 14. The way she sings songs of legendary Lata Mangeshkar gives goosebumps. Both Vishal Dadlani and Ghoshal have time and again appreciated Menuka Poudal for her beautiful renditions.
Last week when Amit Kumar graced the show with his presence to celebrate a special episode dedicated to his father Kishore Kumar, he too was impressed by Menuka Poudal as she crooned the cult classics, “Tere bina zindagi se shikawa” and “Zindagi ke safar mein.” Amit was so impressed that he asked Menuka how she could sing the song so well and that too in one take.

The “Bade Acche Lagate Hain” singer told Menuka that she was blessed and had left him speechless. Another singer who impressed Amit Kumar was Piyush Panwar who delivered an unforgettable performance singing the very difficult Kishore Kumar song, “Aake Seedhi Lagi.” Amit Kumar could not stop himself from praising him repeatedly saying, “It was top class.”
Adhya Mishra, Piyush Panwar emerge hot favourite
In the current weekend, two of the biggest celebrities Zeenat Aman and Hrithik Roshan will be called upon as guest celebrities. The promo shows Zeenatji highly impressed with Adya Mishra from Faridabad after she gives a powerful performance on “Dum Maro Dum.” The Bollywood queen of the 70s also said that Adya can trigger a wave in Bollywood.
Anjana Padmanabhan who is known for her bold singing seems to have impressed Hrithik Roshan which is why on her request the Fighter actor sang his hit number “Senorita” with her and that too so remarkably well. Piyush Panwar will once again be the highlight of the upcoming episode of Indian Idol 14 as the Bollywood superstar will give him a stunning makeover.
Singers like Ananya Pal, Surendra Kumar, Muskan Srivastava, and Utkarsh Wankhede have also made quite an impression on the audience this season.
