Sony TV's singing reality show Indian Idol 12 is heading to its finale and the audience will finally get their winner on Sunday, August 15. With only a few days left for the finale, which is dubbed as the greatest ever Grand finale, the fight for the trophy has become more intense.

To everyone's surprise, the semi-final episode saw no elimination and all six contestants were declared as finalists of Indian Idol 12. Host Aditya Narayan also revealed that the votes received by contestants in the semi-final episode will be carried over for the finale.

With Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Sayli Kishore Kamble, Nihal Tauro, Md. Danish and Shanmukha Priya in the finale, there has been no clear winner appearing.

However, many feel that this year's Indian Idol might see Arunita Kanjilal as the winner as she has consistently performed well in the show.

Arunita has also given tough contest to her competitors, including Pawandeep Rajan who is another top contender for the trophy.

Recently, finalists Sayli Kamble and Arunita Kanjilal also expressed that they want to see a female winner this time.

As it has been a long time since a girl had won the trophy. Last, it was Sourabhee Debbarma who had won the coveted title in season 4, and since then no other girl contestant has won the trophy.

“Only one woman has won Indian Idol so far. Even if there are 5 finalists, only 1-2 are women. Here, all women have been different and the ‘girl power’ has been visible throughout the season and how. And Anjali (Gaikwad) too. I hope every aspiring girl and her family watches this show and sees how parents should motivate their children. It has been shown beautifully in this journey," News18 quoted finalist Sayli saying during a virtual press conference.

Earlier, Indian Idol 12 host Aditya Narayan had also expressed his wish of witnessing a girl win this season.
