  • Anjali Gaikwad’s elimination from Indian Idol 12 yesterday shocked netizens

  • Twitter users slammed Shanmukha Priya once again for ruining old classic “Chura liya hai tumne jo dil ko”

Eliminations started this weekend on Indian Idol 12 after multiple power-play rounds and shockingly it was Anjali Gaikwad, the youngest contestant on the show to get eliminated first.

Anjali and Shanmukha Priya were the two singers who were in the bottom two and everyone expected it to be Shanmukha to go first. It is because the singer, known for her special yodeling, had been receiving flak for bad singing and making unwanted additions and modifications to famous Bollywood songs.

However, when the host of Indian Idol 12, Aditya Narayan announced that it would be the Maharashtrian singer to leave the show, everyone was shocked. Netizens who were slamming Shanmukha as well as other singers like Mohammad Danish felt disappointed with this elimination and poured their outrage on social media.

A user wrote, “One of the finest classical singer #AnjaliGaikWad has been eliminated from #IndianIdol2021. This is really disgusting that the show prefers yodeling over classical music.”

Another user wrote, “One of the finest and melodious contestant ever has been eliminated and SNP is saved. Like wtf are fr? Who even is liking her ruining all the songs and her shit yodeling everytime? You’ll have a great future ahead Anjali. This show is pure biased. #IndianIdol2021.”

Earlier, Anjali Gaikwad mesmerised Zeenat Aman who was the guest on last night’s Indian Idol 12 episode with her rendition of 'Bhor Bhaye Panghat Pe' from Raj Kapoor’s movie “Satyam Shivam Sundaram.”

The yesteryear superstar said that she wondered how a young girl like Anjali can sing a difficult song with such ease.

Shanmukha Priya sang Zeenatji’s “Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko” which was appreciated by the Bollywood actress, but did not go down well with the audience.

Other singers who entertained the judges and the guest on Indian Idol 12 yesterday include Sawai Bhatt, Pawandeep, Sayli Kamble, Arunita Kanjilal, and Ashish Kulkarni.
