Indian Idol 12’s recently aired a Kishore Kumar special episode where the judges and contestants crooned 100 songs of the legendary singer as a tribute to him. The episode has triggered a massive outrage as many are slamming the contestants and the judges, Neha Kakkar, Himesh Reshammiya and Anu Malik for singing the songs of Kishore Kumar terribly.  As more and more viewers expressed their dissatisfaction over the contestants and judges singing Kishore Da’s songs badly, Kishore Kumar's son Amit Kumar who was invited as the chief guest in the special episode made some startling revelations about the episode as well adding to the backlash.

Talking about the outrage over the episode, Amit Kumar said that he is aware of the controversy and he himself also enjoy the episode at all. Revealing the truth behind the episode to TOI, the singer said, “I did what I was told. I was told sabko praise karna hai. I was told jo jaisa bhi gaaye usko uplift karna hai because it's a tribute to Kishore da. I thought it will be a homage to my father. But once there, I just followed what I was asked to do. I had told them to give me portions of the script in advance, but nothing of that sort happened.”

Just like the netizens and viewers, Kumar also expressed his dissatisfaction over the episode. He concluded, “Okay, frankly, I wanted to stop the episode. Do you know there was a programme K for Kishore and it came to an end after some time? Who ended it? I asked them to wind up. I told them to stop the nonsense as it was going haywire and boring.”
