Varun Dhawan has a management degree from UK University

Very few people know this but the Bhediya actor had completed a degree in business management from UK’s Nottingham Trent University before venturing into the movies. Before that, he completed his school education at a Scottish School in Mumbai. During his graduation days in the UK, he used to distribute flyers outside a nightclub to make some extra earnings.

David Dhawan refused to launch him

Despite being a very successful director, Varun Dhawan ’s father David Dhawan said no to launch him in Bollywood. In one of his interviews, the actor even revealed that he used to go to various studios and audition under different names. He was also selected for a movie produced by Aamir Khan under his pseudo name but when the Lagaan actor came to know about the reality of Varun he was dropped from the movie.

Huge Govinda and Sachin Tendulkar fan

Varun is a die-hard Govinda and Sachin Tendulkar fan. As a tribute to his idol Govinda, the actor even did movies like Main Tera Hero and Coolie No. 1 in which he played roles previously done by the dancing star in his heydays. Incidentally, both the Govinda and Varun Dhawan movies were directed by David Dhawan.

Very close to his brother Rohit Dhawan

Varun is extremely close to his brother who is elder to him. Even though Rohit who himself is a director did not offer Varun his movie Shehzada (Kartik Aaryan was the lead actor), their relationship never suffered a hitch.

He has an embarrassing nickname

The pet names of most of the Bollywood stars are quite well known and a few of them like Hrithik Roshan is called Duggu or Karisma Kapoor is called Lolo are quite different. But Varun Dhawan feels embarrassed when he is called by his nickname Pappu, usually by his father.
