Born on August 9 in 1991, Hansika Motwani always had this special quality of making her presence felt on the screen even when she first appeared as a child artist with Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta in Koi... Mil Gaya.

And she proved her talent yet again when Hansika won the Best Female Debut South Filmfare Award for the Telugu movie Desamuduru released in 2007. Apart from working actively in the South Indian film industry, she has also worked on good projects in Bollywood. Some of her noteworthy movies include Velayudham, Engeyum Kadhal, and Theeya Velai.

Believes in peace and follows Buddhism

Hansika Motwani is an ardent Buddhist who follows Buddhism and hence stays away from violence. She practices non-violence in her life and is usually seen doing romantic roles. Tollywood beauty mostly focuses on characters that do not demand her to do actions or kill somebody even in the film. She practices meditation daily to keep herself calm throughout her busy schedule.

Raised by a single mother

Hansika’s father left her mother when she was very young. Her Dermatologist mom brought her up single-handedly and has contributed to her decision of becoming an actress in a big way. She was born and brought up in a Sindhi family in Mumbai.

Career started with television serial

Before making her appearance in Koi... Mil Gaya, Hansika first got her big break on the television serial Shaka Laka Boom Boom followed by Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand.

Fans wanted to build a temple in her name

Active philanthropist

Hansika Motwani is actively involved in charity and provides monetary support to educate underprivileged children. She also is the brand ambassador of Chennai Turns Pink which is an awareness program that brings awareness about breast cancer among women.
