The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story released in 2022 and 2023 respectively were based on real-life controversies and incidents that had affected communities in important parts of India. Both these movies became blockbusters.
Rather, The Kashmir Files surprised everyone with its 200 crore plus business when most of the Bollywood movies were not doing well. And now, yet another movie based on the controversial incident of Godhra, Gujarat is all set to hit the theaters in March 2024.
‘Accident or Conspiracy ’- Godhra: What is the movie about?
Godhra train carnage that took place in 2002 in Gujarat had taken the entire country by storm. At that time, the current Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat and he faced a lot of flak for the subsequent incidences that took place after the carnage. The incident shocked the entire world as the Sabarmati Express caught fire triggering a violent “Godhra Hatyakand.”
Recently, M.K. Shivaaksh, the director of the film, ‘Accident or Conspiracy’- Godhra announced that the film will be released on March 1, 2024.
Shivaaksh shared the first poster of the film on his Instagram handle and it has already triggered a huge anticipation and excitement. In his caption, the director has penned, “22 years later, a story of pain and perseverance is coming soon. This journey is full of passion and dedication. The movie is coming soon to theaters!”
Teaser of Godhra-1 promises to reveal the truth
The teaser released a couple of months ago indicates that Godhra-1 is mostly based on the Nanavati Commission report. The 82-second teaser starts with the caption that the film is based on true events and promises to answer whether the Godhra controversy was an accident or a conspiracy.
In the teaser, the Sabarmati Express catching fire is called ghastly and the makers have insisted that Godhra-1 has been made after doing hard work and research for 5 years and hence many shocking facts will be revealed in the film as proof.
What is more interesting is that the film is titled Godhra-1 which means that a second part of the same is also expected. SInce the film is releasing just before the Lok Sabha 2024 elections, many groups are calling it a political move to change the perspective of the voters.
