Gadar 3 to have Nana Patekar as villain! Ameesha Patel won't take THIS role even for Rs 100 crore
The glorious success of Gadar 2 marked the thumping comeback of Sunny Deol last year on August 11. Following the monstrous success, Sunny Deol is flooded with offers with the immediate next being Jatt. Well, Sunny has some exciting lineups including Lahore: 1947, Ramayana and Border 2 and Gadar 3. While fans are eagerly waiting for updates on all his movies, here we bring some exciting updates on Gadar 3.
First, it was the legendary actor Amrish Puri in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and next it was Manish Wadhwa in Gadar 2: The Katha Continues. Now, reports have been abuzz that Nana Patekar will be seen as the antagonist in Gadar 3.
Notably, senior actor Nana Patekar, who is currently gearing up for his next film Vanvaas, helmed by Anil Sharma, reacted to the circulating reports during a recent interview.
During his interview with Lallantop, Nana hinted that the story will unfold with his character being from one world while Sunny's character belongs to another.
When asked about the speculations of his involvement in Gadar 3, Nana playfully replied that if he were to play the villain opposite Sunny Deol, it wouldn't make sense for Tara Singh to beat him in a fight as the story would need to set them up as being from different worlds. Nana also added that they could sort it out later.
"Kahaani kuch uss tarah ki honi chahiye ki mein waha ka hu, wo yaha ka hai,” said Nana.
However, Nana stated that though he had spoken to Sharma, nothing has been confirmed yet. On the other hand, Sharma had earlier expressed that if the opportunity arises, Nana could fit into the film and it would be a fantastic addition.
Actress Ameesha Patel's comeback with Gadar 2 elated fans. She reprised her role as Sakina and wowed her fans. While the storyline of Gadar 3 is not known, Ameesha Patel has made it clear that she will not be playing the role of mother-in-law onscreen ever. Be it for Gadar 3 or any other film, she won't change her mind even if she is offered Rs 100 crore.
Notably, during a recent interview with Siddharth Kanan, Sharma revealed that Ameesha resisted playing mother-in-law onscreen in Gadar 2. Giving the example of late actress Nargis Dutta who played a mother at a very young age in Mother India, Sharma suggested that Ameesha should embrace the age progression of her character by playing a mother-in-law.
Responding to Sharma's suggestion, Ameesha took to X and wrote, "I feel u have mistaken the story and climax shot by u only in Gadar 2 sakina is only a mother to jeetey as she was 23 years ago in Gadar 1 and a wife to her lovely tara.. sakina is surely not a mother in law to anyone and will never be."
Further, she added, "Dear @Anilsharma_dir dear anilji . This is only a film and not a reality of some family so on screen I do have a say as to what I want to do and not do 🩷respect u loads but will never play a mother in-law for gadar or any film even if paid 100 crores". (sic)
Expressing her possessiveness, she further added that Gadar's story will be only about three of them, Tara, Sakina and Jeetey. She even wrote that the audience won't accept Tara and Sakina as in-laws as they love Tara as their superhero and so does she.
Currently, preparations for Gadar 3 is in full swing and the team is working on the script. However, Sharma had acknowledged that the third instalment is in a stage where changes are not feasible. Notably, Gadar 3 is set to release in 2026.
