The one disease that has affected humanity badly for decades is cancer. Even though nowadays, with advanced treatments many types of cancers are curable, still it is a fact that the disease is deadly and the chances of survival in many cases are very low.

Many Bollywood celebs like Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan have succumbed to this disease. However, there are many others from the entertainment world who have survived and beaten cancer successfully.

Manisha Koirala

This Nepali beauty who ruled the B-town during the 90s was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012. Manisha Koirala had to undergo extensive treatment for the same in New York after which it took her some time to recover and regain her health. She has once again started actively working in movies now.

Sonali Bendre

The slim and tall model-turned-actress was judging a reality show when her health started deteriorating. She was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in 2020 which is known to affect the lungs, lymph nodes, liver, and bones. The Sarfarosh actress has fully recovered now and can be seen as a guest and judge on different reality shows on Indian television.

Sanjay Dutt

The famous Bollywood actor started feeling symptoms of cancer when he was shooting for Prashanth Neel’s blockbuster KGF 2. Within a few days, it was confirmed that Sanjay Dutt was suffering from stage 4 lung cancer. He took proper treatment in Mumbai and successfully returned to the sets to complete shooting as Adheera for the sequel.

Anurag Basu

The Barfi director was diagnosed with leukemia or blood cancer in 2004. It is a near-fatal disease and Anurag had to fight a long battle, but was successful in beating cancer.

Rakesh Roshan

Everyone was shocked when the Krrish director was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2019. Rakesh Roshan underwent a long surgery and managed to beat cancer successfully.
