From Nayanthara to Trisha: Highest-paid South Indian actresses in 2023

South Indian industry experienced a sudden rise in the number of hit movies this year after facing a slack during the COVID-19 pandemic. Just like actors, the fees of actresses have also escalated in the last few years as veteran divas are demanding a major chunk as a paycheck.

From Nayanthara to Trisha Krishnan, here are some of the highest-paid South Indian actresses in 2023:

Trisha Krishnan

The famous Southern actress who dazzled in PSI and PSII is the highest-paid actress from the South this year. She was paid 10 crores per movie for her performance. The actress was very much in the news for pairing opposite Thalapathy Vijay for Leo which marked their reunion after 15 years. The two first appeared in the movie Ghilli which was a blockbuster.

Nayanthara

On the second spot is Jawan fame actress Nayanthara who earns anywhere between Rs 5 to 10 crores for each movie. She has been known to do versatile roles and apart from Jawan, her recent releases like Iravian and Annapooranani have gained her immense appreciation. Nayanthara is considered a powerhouse performer and her personal life with her husband Vignesh Shivan is also very much discussed in the media.

Srinidhi Shetty

She gained massive fame with her role in Kannada superhit KGF and that is how now she commands a hefty sum of 7 crores per movie. She is the winner of the Miss Supranational 2016 pageant and has impressed fans with her histrionics in both the KGF movies.

Pooja Hegde

The former Miss India has made great progress in the film industry after debuting in Bollywood with Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Mohenjo Daro. But before that, she made her Tamil debut with Mugamoodi and in Tollywood with Oka Laila Kosam in 2014. Since then she has worked in many Bollywood, Tamil, and Telugu movies and commands an Rs 5 crore fee per movie.

Anushka Shetty

Post Baahubali, Anushka Shetty has cut down on her work and has done only a few movies like her last release Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty. She has been known as the lady superstar in Tollywood and commands a fee of 4 crore for every movie.
