Popular comedian Raju Srivastava passed away on Wednesday at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. His demise has left the entire nation mourning.

For the unversered, Srivastava was rushed to hospital on August 10 and put on a ventilator after he complained of chest pain and collapsed while working out in his gym. The popular comedian battled for his life for 43 days.

Known for his earthy humour, mimicry and inimitable delivery style, Srivastava became a household name after he appeared in 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge' in 2005 and 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge - Champions'. He was feted with the title of 'The King of Comedy' in the show.

However, a few people known that the comedy star was also part of several Bollywood films since the early 1990s. Srivastava has been in films that featured superstars like Salman Khan, Govinda, and Hrithik Roshan.

Here is list of movies he appeared in before making it big as a stand-up comedian:

Maine Pyaar Kiya

Raju appeared in the debut film Salman Khan as lead actor in 1989. He had essayed the Shambhu, a sidekick of Salman's rival while working at a mine. In one of the scenes, he can be seen cleaning a truck.

Baazigar

In this Shah Rukh Khan's film, Raju had a very small role. He played Shilpa Shetty's college mate. If you watch the film again, you will remember him as one of the three students talking about her as she enters the college.

Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa

Raju Srivastava made a return to movies after Bazigaar, in Govinda starrer 2001 film, Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa. He played the character of a local don.

Waah! Tera Kya Kehna 

After Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa, Srivastava once again collaborated with Govinda in Waah! Tera Kya Kehna. He essayed the role of an assistant of Govinda’s character in the movie.

Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon

Raju Srivastava was also a part of this Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon. He played the role of Sambhu, a domestic help in Kareena Kapoor's home. His character was hilarious with his Bhojpuri accent.

Apart from the above films, he also appeared in movies like  Tezaab, Big Brother, Bhavnaon ko Samjho, Barood : (The Fire) - A Love Story and  Akshay Kumar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. He was last seen in Kapil Sharma starrer Firangi.
