Khan, being a versatile actor, has stepped into several characters. His tale of friendship with Amitabh Bachchan in 'Yaarana' as Bishan is still cherished by movie lovers. However, he is remembered mostly for his villain character.

On the other hand, rewinding to another reel, this Gabbar had a 'Yaarana Dil' at the core.

During an old interview, when Khan was asked what friendship means to him and what is its importance in his life, he replied, "Friendship means a lot to me. I consider my friends as important as my family members."

"Can you do anything for your friend," Khan was asked.

To this, he replied, "Yes, I can do anything for a friend. If required, I give my life for my friend."

When asked, if he had ever gone overboard to help a friend, Khan said, "I have multiple times put my life at risk to help friends and I was lucky enough to get saved. But, I don't want to discuss it. If I say about it, then our friendship will end."

Further, the interviewer sought an answer from the notorious on-screen villain that if any of his friends had taken advantage of such a nature, Khan replied that many had deceived him and taken undue advantage of him, "Ask if there was any friend who didn't take the advantage. There is a difference. Such friends don't remain for a long time."
