Drishyam 3 confirmed: Deets inside as Mohanlal all set to return

Here comes good news for the fans of the Drishyam series! The producers will soon be back with the third installment of the franchise. An announcement regarding the same was made by the producer Antony Perumbavoor yesterday at the Mazhavil Entertainment Awards.

Earlier, a South Indian film distributor AB George had tweeted that Drishyam 3 has been locked and confirmed and that the lead star Mohanlal had given a nod after hearing just one line of the script.

He had also said that the movie will be ready for release anytime between 2023 and 2024. And now, it has been officially confirmed. The hype for the third installment was triggered when a fan-made poster surfaced online that hinted that Drishyam 3 will soon go on the floors.

While the first installment of the movie was a big hit and made in 5 Indian languages, Drishyam 2 has also been made in 3 regional languages. The Telugu and Kannada version has already been released and loved by the audience, the Hindi sequel will hit the theaters in November this year.

The sequel had some shocking twists with Georgekutty who had earlier fooled the police and prevented himself and his family from getting arrested being forced to spell out the truth based on the evidence produced in front of him. The huge transformation in Georgekutty, be it money-wise or in character left the audience speechless with the movie ending in a cliffhanger as Georgekutty once again manages to free himself from police custody.

Now, it would be interesting to see what exactly Geetha and Prabhakar will do to trap Georgekutty who has continued to elude punishment despite a lot of evidence going against his favour.

As per the earlier tweet, an old character from the first installment is expected to make a comeback in Drishyam 3. Most probably he will be the corrupt police officer who had made Georgekutty’s life miserable.
