Dia Mirza celebrates her 42nd birthday today. From winning the beauty pageant to making her debut in Bollywood and later on, turning into a producer and fighting a tough time during pregnancy, the stunning actress has gone through a lot of struggles in her journey of more than two decades in limelight.

Winning Miss Asia Pacific trophy to becoming a Bollywood actress

Dia started off her career as a model when she was in college and appeared in several commercials

Dia won the Miss India Pacific International title in 2000 and went on to make her debut in acting with Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein in 2001 opposite R. Madhavan . The movie was well-received and its songs even today are loved by the millennials. She went on to work in many other Bollywood flicks including Dus, Sanju, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Deewanapan, Alag, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, Parineeta, and many more.

She even started a production company Born Free Entertainment in collaboration with her ex-husband Sahil Sangha and produced their first movie Love Breakups Zindagi. Post her divorce from Sanghi she established her own production house called One India Stories. She was last seen in Kaafir, a web series released in 2019.

Humanitarian work

Dia Mirza has been actively involved with the Spastics Society of India and the Cancer Patients Aid Association. She has extensively supported the Andhra Pradesh government in spreading awareness about HIV and female foeticide prevention. She has been associated with multiple humanitarian causes including Sanctuary Asia&rsquo's Leave Me Alone, Coca Cola Foundation that works in rural areas of India, and many more.

She was one of the few Bollywood actors apart from Aamir Khan who supported Medha Patkar’s Narmada Bachao Andolan. Dia Mirza has worked extensively on causes related to the environment and protecting the earth. She was awarded Green Award at IIFA 2012 and appointed brand ambassador for Wildlife Trust of India and as Goodwill Ambassador for India by UN Environment.

Now, married to businessman Vaibhav Rekhi Dia is now a mother of a boy Avyaan and is enjoying married life.
