BTown's untold stories: From Salman Khan's 'obsessive love' for Aishwarya Rai to Priyanka Chopra’s 'serious affair'
Bollywood has always thrived on stories of love, heartbreak, and scandal. While Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai’s stormy relationship continues to be remembered for its intensity and public fallout, Priyanka Chopra’s rumored affair and her bold career choices still spark curiosity. Recently, ad-filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar revisited both controversies, offering candid insights and unheard perspectives.
In a conversation with Vickey Lalwani, Kakkar revealed what he personally witnessed during Salman and Aishwarya’s infamous relationship. Since he lived in the same building, he had a close view of the turmoil.
“He had been very physical with her and obsessive. How do you deal with somebody like that?” Kakkar said. According to him, Salman often created dramatic scenes in the foyer, sometimes even banging his head against the wall. “The relationship had ended long before it officially ended. It was a relief for everyone- her parents, her, the whole world,” he added.
The breakup, however, weighed heavily on Aishwarya. Kakkar noted, “She wasn’t upset about the breakup. She was upset that everybody took Salman’s side and not hers. The truth was on her side. She didn’t trust the industry anymore because it wasn’t playing fair. If she was wrong, or if both were judged equally, she could have accepted it. But it was completely one-sided.”
Switching to another Bollywood chapter, Kakkar reflected on Priyanka Chopra’s personal life and the rumors that surrounded her. While many speculated about her alleged affair, the actress maintained silence throughout.
“Priyanka is a doll, a great person to work with. She’s ambitious, focused, and has a strong sense of dignity. Her silence said a lot- if it was frivolous, she would have laughed it off. Obviously, it was serious, very personal to her, and she didn’t want it to be written about,” Kakkar shared.
Though Kakkar refrained from naming anyone, industry gossip has long linked Priyanka to Shah Rukh Khan, especially after their sizzling chemistry in Don. Yet, the relationship has never been confirmed.
Beyond her private life, Kakkar praised PeeCee’s fearless decision to leave Bollywood at a time when the industry tried to push her aside.
“When the industry decided she was too old for young heroines, she became the first Indian actress to move abroad and succeed. Who takes that kind of risk? You’re getting big roles, but not the top ones anymore, and you still say- forget it, I’ll restart my career again. How many people can do that?” he remarked.
Priyanka’s gamble paid off, making her one of the most successful Indian stars on the global stage today.
