Border 2: Sunny Deol welcomes 'Fauji' Varun Dhawan to battalion
The announcement of Border 2 has elevated excitement among all moviegoers. Everyone is eagerly anticipating updates on the sequel. Fuelling the excitement, on August 23, Sunny Deol teased a major update on Border 2. He welcomed 'Fauji' Varun Dhawan to the battalion of Border 2.
Sharing a video on X, Sunny Deol captioned his post, "Welcoming Fauji @varundvn to the Battalion of #Border2." (sic)
While the video shows a few visuals of Border, Varun Dhawan's voice is heard in the background.
Varun says, "Dushman ki har goli se, Jai Hind bolke takrata hoon mein, jab dharti maa bulati hai, sab chchod kar ata hoon mein. Hindustan ka fauji hoon mein." (sic)
Moreover, in the background, the latest version of the iconic track 'Sandese Aate Hain' by Sonu Nigam is audible which surely gives goosebumps.
Meanwhile, expressing his excitement, Varun penned a note while sharing the video. His post reads, “I was just a kid in class four when I went to Chandan cinema and saw Border. And it made such a big impact. I still remember the sense of national pride we all felt in the hall. I began looking up to our armed forces and to this day, I salute how they protect us and keep us safe be it on our borders or during natural calamities." (sic)
Further, the Bhediya actor called his inclusion in Border 2 as a special moment. “J P Dutta sir's war epic remains one of my most favourite movies to this day. To play a part in Border 2 produced by J P sir and Bhushan Kumar is a very, very special moment in my career,” he added. (sic)
Furthermore, for Sunny Deol, he wrote, “And I get to work with Sunny [Deol] Paaji my hero makes it all the more special. I look forward to bring a valiant jawaan's story to the screen in what promises to be India's biggest war film. I seek your good wishes. Jai Hind." (sic)
While Suniel Shetty, who was a pivotal part of Border, liked and dropped a comment in the comments section, Varun's costar Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Kriti Sanon wished him good luck with the new venture.
On the other hand, while the inclusion of Varun in Border 2 excited his fans, the announcement didn't go down well with a section of users.
