Bollywood infighting is true! Akshay Kumar reveals BIG about 'who are spreading false rumours and celebrating his failures'

Bollywood's action star Akshay Kumar's Sarfira, a remake of Sooriya's Soorarai Pottru, hit the theatres and recorded one of his lowest opening on day one. While the weekend will decide Sarfira's fate, a couple of days back Akki opened up about his thoughts on back-to-back flops. And now, the Sooryavanshi actor has made shocking revelations about Bollywood infighting. He also revealed that he knows who is spreading false rumours about his work ethic and celebrating his failures.

Akki vented out his anger against Bollywood politics and said that certain people celebrate his failures and he knows exactly who started the rumours around him being under-committed to his films. Further, he said that such rumours have changed the perception about him among the public. Furthermore, he expressed his disgust at his fellow industry members for bad-mouthing each other.

During a recent interview with Baradwaj Rangan on Galatta Plus, the Bade Miyan Chotte Miyan actor confirmed that he strictly works eight-hour shifts as he believes that devoting time to recovery and personal life is necessary.

Akki was quoted as saying, “I don’t want to get into the details of who started this (wrong perception), because it starts from somewhere. It starts with somebody who doesn’t like you. That’s how it starts, they pick one or two things… Now remember what they used to say earlier? They used to say, ‘Akshay’s films don’t take long; he comes on time and leaves on time’."

Further, he added, "I used to do 17 films at a time, and they used to be released within eight months; that’s how efficient I was considered… But now, when films don’t work, they say that I don’t devote enough time.”

The Kesari actor said that he gives directors exactly what they ask for, and he cannot impose himself on them when he isn’t required. He also admitted that a string of films over the past few years have not worked.

"People love seeing when my films don’t work. People love seeing it, they’re happy. I’ve seen it myself…” he said.

Akki said that he finds industry politics reprehensible. He said, “Till today, in 33-34 years, I have never spoken ill of anyone. I always feel that you have no right to take anybody’s name and put the person down.”

The Mohra actor recalled Amitabh Bachchan’s advice to him and said that he only wants to focus on working hard. “I would like to give this advice to people. Don’t put others down. I see it in politics, I see it in my own industry. Ek hero dusre hero ko gaali deta hai, director usko gaali deta hai, producer uss hero ko gaali deta hai (everybody is calling each other names). I just fail to understand why you all are abusing each other. There is so much energy that is just going to waste., he added.
