Bollywood couple demands 11 vanity vans! Is it Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone?

The ever-growing demands of Bollywood stars’ entourages and extravagant vanity setups are giving filmmakers sleepless nights. Director Sanjay Gupta recently revealed that some celebrity couples ask for as many as 11 vanity vans on set, each serving a specific purpose, from makeup and gym sessions to kitchens and even one 'just to sit naked in'.

Sanjay Gupta Lifts the Curtain

Speaking on Cyrus Broacha’s podcast, Gupta highlighted how what was once a team of two or three staff has now turned into “a team of 30,” inflating costs by several lakhs. Every extra vanity van brings along its own entourage- trainers, assistants, drivers, chefs, and maintenance staff- multiplying expenses exponentially.

Gupta explained, “I know certain actors who have six makeup vans. The first van is his personal space. This is real, I’m very serious. Wahan saab nanga baithte hain (Sir sits naked in that van). Then comes the makeup and hair van, followed by another one for meetings. The fourth van is his gym, which means he brings a trainer, assistant, driver, and maintenance man. That’s six people just for one van!”

He added that the fifth van was exclusively for food, equipped with a chef who weighs meals by the gram, while the sixth was needed for the staff to rest. “Now imagine this multiplied for a star couple- the total shoots up to 11 vans!”

Husband-Wife, Still Separate Kitchens

Gupta revealed that certain couples even demand separate kitchen vans, despite being married. “Don’t they eat together at home? They’re husband-wife, and still they want separate kitchen vans! I’m not exaggerating; this is a fact,” he stressed.

Who’s the Mystery Couple?

Though Gupta avoided naming names, netizens speculate that the star couple could be Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Netizens are convinced as earlier media reports claimed that Singh had teamed up with Tollywood filmmaker Prashanth Varma for a superhero film Brahma Rakshas. However, they reportedly parted ways. Reportedly, Singh arrived on the sets with a caravan of team members and his team's behaviour was not good. Now, media reports confirm that Prabhas was roped in as the lead for the project after Singh's exit.

Still, there’s no official confirmation, leaving the speculation wide open. For now, Gupta’s revelations only underline the growing challenge filmmakers face in managing starry demands- where vanity vans are no longer luxuries but sprawling empires on wheels.
