News Highlights

  • Big Bollywood movies are lined up for release in 2021-22 as Maharasthra opens theaters with full capacity next month.
  • Mega clashes are expected between Akshay Kumar and Prabhas, and Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh's movies.

The Maharashtra Government has now announced that the theaters will open with full capacity from next month. The moment this announcement was made by the CM, production houses lined up their pending releases and declared the theatrical release date of their much-awaited movies.

While these producers did have the option to release the movie on OTT instead of the cinema hall, majority of them including Rohit Shetty (Sooryavanshi), SS Rajamouli (RRR), Prashanth Neel (KGF 2) and YRF (Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Bunty Aur Babli 2, etc.) decided to hold on the releases as web releases would have drastically affected the revenues.

According to reports, the boss of YRF Aditya Chopra even turned down a whopping offer of Rs 400 crore for a tie-up with a reputed platform and ensured that his movies get theatrical release. So, which are these movies that Bollywood fans would get to see in 2021 and 2022 in the cinema halls:

Interestingly, two movies based on cricket-Ranveer Singh’s 83 and Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey are slated to release during December end this year with a gap of only a week. There are many more movies that are expected to clash at the box-office like Om Raut-helmed Adipurush starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan, and Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan.
