  • The Khiladi Kumar-led movie BMCM fell flat at the box office.
  • It failed to get even a few crores of opening on Day 1.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in the lead released to a dismal response today in the theaters. The Khiladi Kumar-led movie fell flat at the box office not even getting an opening of a few crores. Although the booking showed 80% full on the app, the theaters had only 10% occupancy hinting that a lot of corporate booking was also done to exaggerate the figure.

Leading critics have heavily slammed the movie directed by Abbas Ali Zafar who is known for directing some big hits like Tiger Zinda Hai and Sultan. Taran Adarsh has given it only two stars and called it disappointing. Another leading Bollywood critic Komal Nahta simply has questioned Akshay Kumar’s approach towards his work as an actor.

In his review of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Nahta said, “Akshay Kumar jo ki Feroz aka Freddy ki Bhumika nibha rahe hai, he looks disinterested. Aisa hota hai na ki bas kam khatam karo, shooting khatam karo, uss prakar ki feeling aati hai. It may be true, or it may not be true but that is what comes across while you watch Akshay Kumar on the screen. This is not a good feeling.”

He further says, “Now that even though aaj Eid hai iss film ki opening khas nahi hai. The actual opening. Corporate booking, mass booking woh toh chalte rahte hain lekin jo audience ne ticket kharide hai that is very limited and the opening can be described as below expectations, far below expectations.”

At last Komal decided to speak the truth about Akshay's acting on public platform! He even talked about corporate booking of BMCM!

It is a known fact in the industry that the Hera Pheri actor never works more than 8 hours. This has been mentioned multiple times on various public platforms, reality shows, and events and once he completes 8 hours of work, it is pack up for him. Akshay has also said recently that he mostly believes in discipline and maintaining his health and is not the type of actor who will bulk up or add weight for a particular role.

When the YRF movie Prithviraj failed badly at the box office, even Aditya Chopra slammed the Bollywood superstar for lacking in effort as Akshay refused even to grow a moustache for his role.
