Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal reuniting for Heri Pheri 3 filled high excitement among moviegoers who were eagerly waiting to see the actors reprising their iconic roles- Raju, Shyam and Baburao, respectively, in the bone-tickling comedy franchise. While there are no further updates from the makers, Akki dropped a big hint about Hera Pheri 3, recently.
Currently, Akki is prepping up for the release of his upcoming movie 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,' also starring Tiger Shroff, Manushi Chillar, Alaya F, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Sonakshi Sinha, among others. While fans are eagerly waiting for the action comedy flick, helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Akki shared an update on Hera Pheri franchise.
During an interview with Ranveer Allahabadia on his podcast, the Gold actor opened up on the revival of the comedy genre in the coming years. He confirmed comedy films like Welcome 3, Houseful 5 and Hera Pheri 3 are on the cards.
During the interview, Akki spoke about the shortage of comedy films in Bollywood. He further mentioned that there will be soon an influx in the comedy genre.
Akki said, "It will come now. Within this year and the next, quite a few comedy films will be released. I myself am doing two or three."

When asked about his projects, Akki replied, "I am doing them. I am welcoming them, working on Houseful, and perhaps I'll also do Hera Pheri.
As per a report in Times Of India, Hera Pheri 3 landed in legal trouble soon after the shooting began. T-Series sent a legal notice to the makers regarding the music rights and distribution.
According to a Trade Magazine, T-Series released a public notice to the creators of Hera Pheri 3, asserting ownership of all audio and visual rights to every song in the comedy franchise.
Well, as per Akki's latest update, things seem to be sorted out between the makers and distributors. If the reports are to be believed, Hera Pheri 3 might commence soon and moviegoers will get the updates.
Notably, apart from the original cast, Sanjay Dutt will be seen in a pivotal role. Reports suggest the story will take off right from the point where Phir Hera Pheri ended. The makers also have planned to shoot overseas and not just in India.
