Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 is happening! Kabir Khan confirms 'talks are ongoing' with Salman Khan

Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 is generating more buzz than ever for the last few months after revelations made by eminent writer V Vijayendra Prasad about meeting with Salman Khan for the possibility of a sequel to 2019's Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Though filmmaker Kabir Khan earlier had cleared his stance of not being in favour of making a sequel, he recently revealed that talks are ongoing with Salman Khan for the sequel.

Kabir on Bajrangi Bhaijaan Sequel With Salman

During a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Kabir Khan revealed that he and Salman Khan are discussing about reuniting for Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2. Though he confirmed the ongoing talks, he stressed that they're being cautious and waiting for the right story.

Kabir was quoted as saying, "We have definitely spoken about Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2. In today’s day and age, when all franchises are doing well, we are being careful about Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2, as we don’t want to make a sequel to the most popular film of the last two decades for the sake of it."

'Not Rushing Into A Sequel To Capitalise on the Legacy

Further, Kabir shared that both he and Salman are aligned on not rushing into a sequel just to capitalise on the legacy of the original.

He said, "We don’t want to spoil the legacy of a beautiful film like Bajrangi Bhaijaan. If and when a story hits us – maybe now, or a year later – we will definitely bring Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2."

Furthermore, Kabir added that he has never been inclined to follow the sequel route in his career. However, Bajrangi Bhaijaan holds a special place.

The filmmaker also said that he would love to direct Bajrangi Bhaijaan sequel, but for the right reasons and not wrong ones. He wants to do justice to the legacy of the cult movie and not for the sake of box office numbers.
