Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Salman Khan
Nawajuddin Siddiqui is currently in the limelight more often as he is promoting his latest release Costao. The actor who is known for his realistic acting has been away from the mainstream Bollywood movies for some time mostly because he has decided to only play good and meaty roles in movies. During his recent podcast Nawazuddin Siddiqui labelled actors who danced at weddings as bhand which has not gone down well with many people.
In one of the podcast the Kick actor can be heard saying, “Log bolte hai ki star jake dance karte hai parties mein wedding mein toh yeh woh. To kya hua? Wahi toh profession hai unka. Bhand hi toh hai hum. Isme kya problem hai. Pehele kya bolte the. Nautanki wagaira hua karti thi na. Cinema se pahile, toh in logon ko, bhand logon ko shaher se bahar rakkha jata tha tent mein. Ke aao show karo aur wapas chale jau. Hamare society mein aane ki jarurat nahi hai aapko. Toh yeh hota tha.”

“Kyun nahi rakhte the society main? Azad khayal ke log hai. Inka koi iman dharam hota nahi hai. Iss type ke. Toh isliya society ke bahar rakhte the. Abhi kya huwa ki paisa waisa aa gaya, acche kapde pahen liya toh acchi bhasha mein baat karne lage toh problem unke saath mein ho gayi ki actors ko jinko bhand bola jata tha unka aisa ho gaya ki society main bhi rahena chahte hai aur phir dance yeh woh unki bhandgiri bhi chalti raheti hai," Nawazuddin Siddiqui added.
Many social media users have badly slammed the language of Nawaz in this podcast and a few even have called him out for using casteist slurs.
While this is the take of Nawaz on actors dancing at weddings, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan once defended actors who danced at events and personal weddings. In an interview the Bollywood’s Sultan said, “Hume paise milte hai. Hum jate hai. Kiske liye nachte hai? Dance karte hai, entertain karte hain, yeh hamara profession hai. Hamara kam hai. Woh jo dedh do lakh log aate hai unke liye.”
The superstar said that irrespective of the event or the area where it is being done, his job is to entertain and there should be no objection to it. When the anchor asked him why he was dancing at a function held by Samajwadi Party an irked Salman Khan said, “Main kisi ke bhi paas jata hoon Sir. Don’t worry about my moral responsibility. I know my responsibility very well. I have gone there to perform, to raise money. I am an actor. Ab main uss paison ko jalau, phadu nach mein uda dun, garibo main baat doon that is my thing. I have paid my taxes I can do whatever with that money.”
