Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 to NTR's Devara, know hefty OTT deals of upcoming Tollywood movies

Some big Tollywood movies are gearing up to release in 2024. From Allu Arjun to Jr NTR, mega superstars will have big releases this year and the makers of these movies have already clinched some hefty deals for their respective projects.

So, read on to know the upcoming projects and the deals about them:

Devara

With Jr NTR in the lead, Devara will also mark the debut of Janhvi Kapoor in Tollywood. Saif Ali Khan has been roped in as the lead antagonist of Devara scheduled to release in theaters on April 5 this year. The movie will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam and will be released on Netflix a few weeks after its theatrical release. Reportedly, the international OTT giant has bought Devara at a whopping price of 155 crores.

Pushpa 2

Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna’s Pushpa: The Rise is a much-awaited movie of 2024. The first look of Bunny from Pushpa 2 as well as the tentative storyline has already created a lot of hype for this Sukumar-helmed flick. Earlier it was reported that Amazon Prime has secured digital rights of Pushpa 2 with a 30 crore offer. However, Netflix, known for its aggressive approach tripled the offer amount and now has reportedly bought the rights at 100 crores.

Salaar

Last year, Hombale Films was in a dilemma as many OTT platforms were not interested in buying the digital rights of Prashanth Neel and Prabhas’ Salaar. And it was expected because the last few movies of the Rebel star failed to work as per expectations. But as the world of Khansaar was unveiled on the big screen and the theatrical numbers exceeded expectations many big OTT players jumped into the fray.

However, it was Netflix who quoted a whopping amount of 160 crores and clinched the deal.

Family Star

Family Star with Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur in the lead was supposed to release around Makar Sankranthi along with Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram. However, now has been delayed and will be released in March 2024. Incidentally, last year when producer Dil Raju was eagerly hunting a buyer to sell the digital rights of Family Star, both Netflix and Amazon Prime rejected the offer.

The quoted price by Dil Raju was 70 crore and finally, it was Disney Plus Hotstar which after a bit of negotiation sealed the deal.

Game Changer

Ram Charan and Kiara Advani’s Game Changer directed by famous South Indian director Shankar will hit the theaters in summer 2024. Considering the hype around Ram Charan after RRR’s huge success and the aura around Shankar, the movie has bagged one of the biggest deals in the history of Southern OTT releases. Reportedly, Zee5 has acquired the digital rights of Game Changer at a hefty price of 250 crores.
