Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar’s niece Simar Bhatia is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda in a patriotic movie. While Agastya was launched on the digital platform by Zoya Akhtar with The Archies, this movie titled Ikkis will launch him on the big screen.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the movie with a heartwarming story will be bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan. Peeping Moon has reported that Simar Bhatia who is the daughter of Akki’s sister Alka Bhatia and Agastya Nanda will lead the film as romantic pair which is based on the life of Arun Khetrapal, the youngest army officer to receive Param Vir Chakra.

According to the source, “Although Alka is a camera-shy person and has always stayed away from the limelight despite producing several movies with Akshay, her daughter Simar has always been interested in acting and is excited to get on a film set to live her dream.”

Interestingly, Simar has decided to start her journey in Bollywood without the help of her maternal uncle Akshay Kumar who could have easily given her a big launch. But the source reports that the young girl has grabbed Ikkis on her merit which is a rarity in the days when daily a new star kid is launched by close-knit Bollywood groups.

Simar has a very short role in this movie and it seems that she has already wrapped up shooting for most of her part. The movie highlights the emotions of father and son in the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war in which Dharmendra is playing the role of Brigadier M.L.Khetrapal and Agastya will be essaying the role of his son, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal.

The shooting for Ikkis started in February this year and it will hit the theaters on January 10, 2025.
