Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan top pick as replacement for Amitabh Bachchan as KBC host!
India's popular TV game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) will complete its 25 years on July 3, 2025. Millennium Star Amitabh Bachchan has been hosting KBC for the last 25 years, except for the third season. Well, since 2017, Big B has been hosting the show and currently hosting KBC 16. However, after Big B recently expressed that he has been struggling with forgetfulness and making mistakes on the set as he is getting old, speculations have been rife that the legendary actor might step back from hosting KBC's next season.
Amitabh Bachchan had bid an emotional farewell to the show on the final episode of KBC 15. Reportedly, he had requested the producers to find his successor. However, the channel failed to find a replacement and he had to make a comeback to the show as its host.
Currently, KBC 16, which began on August 12, 2024, has been airing on the channel for the last seven months with more than 150 episodes. The ongoing season of KBC is the longest run of the show. Amid this, reports have been abuzz that the next season of KBC will see a new host.
According to recent research conducted by the Indian Institute of Human Brands (IIHB) and Rediffusion’s Red Lab to see whom does the audience consider Amitabh Bachchan's replacement in KBC. Around 768 respondents, including 408 males and 360 females, participated in the research study. Well, the result was quite surprising. Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, MS Dhoni and Anil Kapoor, were among the top picks of the audience.
Reportedly, with 63% votes, Shah Rukh Khan topped the list and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan bagged the second spot in the list with 51% votes. Well, MS Dhoni, Harsha Bhogle and Anil Kapoor were the next three choices of the audience with 37%, 32% and 15% votes, respectively.
Surprisingly, around 42% of the respondents voted for Amitabh Bachchan and said that he should continue till he can.
Interestingly, people also voted for Aamir Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Shashi Tharoor and Chetan Bhagat as replacements for the legendary actor.
As of now, it has not been finalised that KBC 16 will be Amitabh Bachchan's last season as the host. Fans have to wait for an official confirmation.
For the unversed, Shah Rukh Khan hosted the third season of KBC. However, Big B was brought back to host the show, as the producers reportedly felt that despite his charm, SRK couldn't build a connection with the audience like Big B.
