After Awarapan 2, Emraan Hashmi drops major update on Jannat 3!

Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, who is currently gearing up for his upcoming Ground Zero, a couple of weeks back triggered excitement among fans with the announcement of Awarapan 2. Well, amid the elevated excitement for Ground Zero and Awarapan 2, Hashmi recently dropped a major hint on Jannat 3.

Emraan Hashmi On Jannat 3

During his recent interaction with Bollywood Hungama for Ground Zero promotions, Emraan Hashmi revisited his most loved films, Awarapan and Jannat. During the interview, he hinted at the possibility of a new instalment of the Jannat franchise. Opening about the possible sequel to 2008's Jannat, Hashmi said he and the team of the film don’t want to rush it. The film will only proceed after they have a strong script.

He said, “When we feel we have a strong script that truly picks up from where the last film left off—and we’re not just making a sequel for the sake of it, then we’ll announce it. Right now, we’re trying to make sure Jannat can return to the big screen with the impact it deserves."

Notably, earlier during an interview with HT City, talking about the possibility of a sequel to Jannat, Hashmi expressed enthusiasm for the project. However, he had clarified that the decision lies with the Bhatt brothers, Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt.

"The makers (Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt) have to come together again to make it happen, which I unfortunately don't see happening," he said.

However, without completely shutting the door on the possibility, Hashmi said, "If by some stroke of luck or miracle that happens, it will happen."

Well, it seems, things have fallen in place and an official announcement for Jannat 3 will be made soon.

Jannat and Jannat 2

2008's romantic crime film Jannat, helmed by Kunal Deshmukh, starred Emraan Hashmi and Sonal Chauhan in the lead. The movie received positive responses and was a hit both domestically and internationally. Moreover, the film also had a successful soundtrack album and was the seventh highest-selling album of the year.

Later in 2012, the makers came up with Jannat's spiritual sequel. Helmed by Kunal Deshmukh, the crime thriller starred Emraan Hashmi, Esha Gupta and Randeep Hooda. While the movie emerged as a commercial success, the soundtrack of Jannat 2 received positive reviews.
