Actor Mukul Dev passes away at 54 following health complications

Veteran actor Mukul Dev, renowned for his versatile roles across Hindi, Punjabi, and South Indian cinema, passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 54. He had been battling health complications and was admitted to the ICU prior to his demise.

Mukul Dev's acting career commenced in 1996 with the television serial Mumkin, where he portrayed Vijay Pandey. He made his Bollywood debut the same year in Dastak, starring alongside Sushmita Sen. Over the years, he delivered notable performances in films such as Son of Sardaar, R... Rajkumar, Jai Ho, and Yamla Pagla Deewana, the latter earning him the 7th Amrish Puri Award for excellence in acting.

Beyond his film work, Mukul was a trained pilot and aviation trainer, a lesser-known facet of his multifaceted career. He was also the younger brother of actor Rahul Dev.

Following the death of their parents, Mukul became increasingly reclusive, seldom making public appearances. Actor Vindu Dara Singh, who co-starred with him in Son of Sardaar, confirmed his passing and noted that Mukul had been unwell in recent days.
