'Cinema in Cinema'! Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani reunite after 11 years for Dadasaheb Phalke biopic

The reports of Aamir Khan teaming up with Rajkumar Hirani have been abuzz for quite a few days now. Earlier, the two powerhouses joined forces for the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema, 3 Idiots and PK. Undeniably, the reports of the reunion streamed excitement among fans with hopes of another blockbuster. Well, according to the latest report, Aamir and Rajkumar are reuniting for the biopic of Dadasaheb Phalke, the 'Father of Indian Cinema'. According to the makers, this will be the first time that the story of 'Cinema in Cinema' will be brought to the audience in theatres.

Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani to Bring Dadasaheb Phalke's Story

According to the latest report, Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani have reunited after 11 years for the biopic of Dadasaheb Phalke. The makers released a press release making the announcement. Reportedly, Aamir Khan will start prepping for his part right after the release of Sitaare Zameen Par. The yet-to-be-titled movie will roll on floors from October 2025.

If the reports are anything to go by, the story is set against the backdrop of the independence struggle, following the extraordinary journey of an artist, who from scratch goes on to give birth to the largest Indigenous film industry in the world.

Notably, VFX studios from LA has already created AI designs for the era and period of the film. Hirani with Abhijat Joshi and two other writers Hindukush Bharadwaj and Avishkar Bharadwaj have been working on the script for the biopic for the past 4 years.

On the other hand, Dadasaheb Phalke’s grandson, Chandrashekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar has been supportive of the project and has provided major anecdotes from the late legendary filmmaker’s life.

The development comes at a time when reports have been abuzz about Jr NTR and SS Rajamouli's collaboration for Dadasaheb Phalke's biopic.
