Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao shocked everyone by announcing their divorce a week earlier. Many believed that actress Fatima Sana Sheikh is the reason for this separation and it was being speculated on social media that soon after his divorce the Lagaan actor will tie the knot with his Dangal actress.
However, insider reports suggest that it is not at all true. Fatima is not the reason for this divorce and rather both Aamir and Kiran have decided to part ways for their personal reasons. According to Asianet, the now estranged couple separated emotionally in 2019 and was trying to come to terms with this separation and plan a new life ahead without each other in these last some months.
Aamir Khan has always been known to do everything the perfect way. And so, even when it came to his divorce, Mr. Perfectionist followed a much-matured pattern and ensured that no drama or hype is created around his private life. The report says that over the last few years, both Aamir and Kiran thought that they had outgrown the foundation of marriage.

There are no differences or issues between the two and they continue to be friends. Even their beliefs and values have remained the same however, over the years their views on life, what they want from life, and opinions regarding certain aspects of life have changed.
Also, their outlook towards marriage and love has changed over the years which is why they decided to end their marriage instead of dragging on a loveless relationship for the sake of society.
This way, both Kiran and Aamir believe that each of them can go on living separately in harmony without having any malice towards each other. Importantly, it is not a decision made in haste because after separating emotionally in 2019, they gave each other a separation trial period to find out whether they are better off without each other or with each other.
