Rather, many Bollywood filmmakers remade the Southern superhits that were equally successful in Bollywood like Wanted and Drishyam. However, nowadays, there is little scope for remakes as most of the Southern as well as Bollywood films are released in multiple languages.
That is the reason movies like KGF, Pushpa, RRR, and Kantara could win the hearts of millions of Indians across the country.
This year too some mega movies from the South are aiming for all-India as well as global release. And, these movies can give tough competition to B-town releases of 2024 like Maidaan, Singham Again, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and many more.
Kantara 1
Rishab Shetty’s Kantara was a pan-India hit. Now the actor and director is coming out with Kantara 1 in 2024 which is expected to get a very good response across the country.
The Greatest of All Time
Reportedly, it will be the last movie of Thalapathy Vijay before he begins his innings in politics. The high-end action film is expected to release on August 15 and will likely clash with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 and Ajay Devgn's Singham Again.
Kanguva
It is one of the biggest pan-India movies from Suriya which will be released in 38 languages and hopes are quite high on this film.
Devara
It will be the first release of Jr NTR after RRR and also will mark the Telugu debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
Pushpa: The Rule
The first movie starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna was a pan-India hit. The sequel is also expected to do very well and is one of the most anticipated movies of this year.
Thangalaan
Chiyaan Vikram is a big star in the Tamil film industry. After his impressive performance in Mani Ratnam-helmed PS1 and PS2, he will be next seen in a mega movie Thangalam, scheduled for release in April 2024.
Kalki 2898 AD
Although the movie stars Prabhas in the lead, it can be called a pan-India movie and not just a Tollywood flick because it also features Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Disha Patani in important roles.
Indian 2
Kamal Haasan is all set to return as Senapati in Indian 2 and it is indeed one of the most awaited movies of 2024.
Game Changer
Makers have already declared that Game Changer led by Ram Charan and directed by Shankar is going to be a pan-India movie. With Kiara Advani in the lead, the aim is to attract the Bollywood audience as well.
Vettaiyan
Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie in which he has collaborated with his idol Amitabh Bachchan after a long gap is also releasing this year and aiming for pan India release.
