Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep Island has certainly become the cynosure of all social media users. Many believe that it was the move by our Prime minister to tackle the recent political crisis of the Indian government with the Maldives after the latter officially asked the Indian Army to withdraw from its territory.
In the last few years, celebrities visiting Maldives have become a regular norm. With this Lakshadweep Island visit the Indian Prime Minister has brought the neglected Indian Union Territory into the limelight so that Indians chose it over Maldives. And it has also caught the fancy and support of a few Bollywood celebrities.

Tourism is the major source of income for Maldives and Indian celebrities are its most sought-after visitors. With the changing dynamics in relations between the two countries, it has become important that the flow of money should be diverted back to India instead of Maldives and that is what this trend might help to achieve.
Came across comments from prominent public figures from Maldives passing hateful and racist comments on Indians. Surprised that they are doing this to a country that sends them the maximum number of tourists.
