Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep Island has certainly become the cynosure of all social media users. Many believe that it was the move by our Prime minister to tackle the recent political crisis of the Indian government with the Maldives after the latter officially asked the Indian Army to withdraw from its territory.
In the last few years, celebrities visiting Maldives have become a regular norm. With this Lakshadweep Island visit the Indian Prime Minister has brought the neglected Indian Union Territory into the limelight so that Indians chose it over Maldives. And it has also caught the fancy and support of a few Bollywood celebrities.
Incredible India is not just a tag, our beautiful country has some of the most incredible and stunning locales and #Lakshadweep is an example of it- a heaven like place in India itself! Can’t wait to explore this beautiful Indian island. #ExploreIndianIslands pic.twitter.com/Z16hxG0fOo— Kartik Aaryan (@TheAaryanKartik) January 7, 2024
Shraddha Kapoor joined the #ExploreIndianIslands trend on X sharing a beautiful picture from the Lakshadweep Island. In her caption, the Stree actor penned, “All these images and memes making me super FOMO now. Lakshadweep has such pristine beaches and coastlines, and thriving local culture, that I’m on the verge of booking an impulse chhutti. This year why not #ExploreIndianIslands.”
Apart from Shraddha Kapoor, John Abraham too seems to have taken a cue from the Indian Prime Minister and joined the bandwagon of #ExploreIndianIslands. Leading actors like Akshay Kumar, Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar have also upheld the trend and supported the efforts of the Indian PM to bring the Indian island Lakshadweep into the limelight.
Tourism is the major source of income for Maldives and Indian celebrities are its most sought-after visitors. With the changing dynamics in relations between the two countries, it has become important that the flow of money should be diverted back to India instead of Maldives and that is what this trend might help to achieve.
Came across comments from prominent public figures from Maldives passing hateful and racist comments on Indians. Surprised that they are doing this to a country that sends them the maximum number of tourists.— Akshay Kumar (@akshaykumar) January 7, 2024

The coastal town offered everything we wanted, and more. Gorgeous locations combined with wonderful hospitality left us with a treasure trove of memories.

India boasts of a huge coastline and apart from the Lakshadweep Islands, the country has many more exotic beaches and spots with scenic beauty that can be explored. And the video from Sindhudurg shared by Sachin Tendulkar is an ideal example of that.
