Why does the world celebrate Teachers' Day on 5th October and India on 5th September?

Meanwhile, in India, Teachers' Day is celebrated on 5th September while the rest of the world does it a month later. 5th September is the birth anniversary of the second president of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a great philosopher, teacher and scholar. As a way to remember and celebrate his life, work, and approach to education and students, the day is known in India as Teachers' Day.
