The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has issued an important circular for its affiliated schools regarding the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) 2021-22.

VVM is touted to be India’s largest Science Talent Search Examination which will be held using digital devices. As per the latest circular, the CISCE has asked its affiliated schools to motivate students to participate in the unique programme aimed at inculcating scientific temper among the students.

The Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is an initiative of Vijnana Bharati, in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).

VVM is a national program for popularizing science among school students of standard VI to XI, conceptualised to identify the bright minds with a scientific aptitude among the student community.

The 10th edition of the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (WM) 2021-22 for students of classes VI to XI will be conducted on November 30, 2021 and December 5, 2021. “VVM 2021-22 will be India's first open-book science talent search examination designed to be carried out using digital devices (App based).

The examination will be conducted separately for Junior Group (VI to VIII) and for Senior Group (IX to XI),” the circular read. This 90-minute examination with 100 Multiple Choice Questions can be attempted by the students on any of the examination dates between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm from the comfort of their home and following all COVID norms.

Moreover, this year, VVM is coming up with Bhaskara Scholarship for Himalayans (18 students) and SRIJAN (Internship-cum-Extensive Training Program in the leading Research & Development laboratories of the country) for all National level winners (90 students).

Mega nation-wide experiment based on the food habits of students, nutritional value of the consumed food and its environmental impact will continue this year as well. The objectives of this Mega experiment are to teach observational skills, a scientific mindset and analytical thinking among students,the official released added.
