“One needs to understand that this is a long journey and two years of hard work is needed. I am also studying in Cambridge and appeared for the exams in between. I am happy that everything happened as per my wish,” said Dash.

Taking coaching and preparing for mocks and interviews helped to crack the UPSC exam, said Dash. Dash, who is pursuing her MPhil from Cambridge University, had completed her graduation from St Xavier’s in Kolkata.

Success Mantra

In the last one year, I did smart work more than hard work. What to read and what not, everything is available on the internet. However, I focused on practice and revision and all credit goes to my uncle, who is a justice at Orissa High Court. He inspired me to join the government sector and serve the society. My family also supported me, said Dash.

“IAS will provide a perfect opportunity for me to serve at the grassroots and bring change in the lives of the vulnerable. Staying in a joint family has also helped as we get inspired by seeing each other,” said Dash.

How Was The Interview

I was asked a lot of questions related to economics and about Odisha, I was asked what you can do to resolve the labour migration issue as a Collector. Apart from that, I was also asked a lot of unconventional questions which I humbly said I had no answer, said Dash.

“I want to work in Odisha and even if I am not given Odisha cadre, still I will give my 100 percent and discharge my duties as a good public servant,” Dash said.
