In a major decision, the Odisha government on Saturday announced the dates for application submission process for admissions into Plus 2 colleges and schools.
School and Mass Education Minister, Samir Ranjan Dash today said that the application process for the Plus 2 admissions will begin from July 20. Students can apply for the same on the SAMS portal till August 10, 2022.
However, the deadline for applying might be extended as the CBSE and ICSE boards are yet to release the Board examination results, informed the Minister.
According to Dash, already the matriculation or the class 10 examination results have been published on July 6. Around 90.55 per cent of students have passed the class 10 exam conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) this year.
“The application collection process will continue till August 10. We hope that the CBSE, ICSE results are also announced within the period. However, if there is a delay, appropriate measures will be taken to give chance to the students,” said Dash.
On media query, whether the State government will increase the Plus 2 seats in view of the matriculation results, Dash said that usually seats are increased by 10 to 15 % if needed. Though no decision has been taken yet regarding increasing the seats in Plus 2 colleges, appropriate steps will be taken depending on the circumstances, Dash added.
