BJD Protests Over Special OTET Exam Cancellation
In a significant development in the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) question paper leak case, the Crime Branch has arrested six individuals. The disclosure was made by the Crime Branch Director General during an official press briefing on Wednesday.
The investigation has revealed that the question paper leak was facilitated through a data entry operator working with the examination board. The prime accused, Jitan Maharana, a Data Entry Operator, is believed to have played a central role in the leak.
Crime Branch sources have confirmed that Rs 2.4 lakh was transferred into Maharana’s account, establishing a clear financial link to the illegal activity.
Authorities have also stated that the leaked question paper was widely circulated, reaching from Balasore in the north to Koraput in the south of the state, suggesting a large-scale compromise of examination integrity.
The Crime Branch continues its investigation to uncover further connections and trace the complete network involved in the leak. This development has sparked serious concerns about the security protocols in place for major state-level examinations, such as the OTET.
